Howdy,

Time to make those New Year writing resolutions! First, I'll look back on my resolutions from 2019.

  1. Finish the Arduous Edit - DONE!

  2. Go/no-go decision on hiring a professional editor – No go for now.

  3. Attend Willamette Writers' Conference/begin hawking my manuscript – DONE!

  4. Start a new novel-length project - DONE!

On top of attaining those goals, I published six short stories in 2019. I'm pretty pleased about that, but, like for many, the ultimate goal of publishing a novel is unattained. Fingers crossed for 2020!

I've never been big on making resolutions. If something is worth achieving, who needs a resolution? But, much like this blog in general, I find making resolutions, AKA goal-setting, helps keep me accountable. It gives me that little extra bit of pep to get the job done. So, here are my goals for 2020 in no particular order.

  1. Finish editing my YA WIP

  2. Send out more queries

  3. Attend Willamette Writers' Conference & begin hawking my YA manuscript

  4. Start a new novel-length project

I think all these resolutions are achievable. That's part of the secret, right? Setting attainable goals…

Anyway, I wish you all the best in achieving your writing goals in the new year.
